Questions about Counseling?
I am committed to helping my clients realize their potential to live healthy, joyous lives while experiencing satisfying relationships with others. Sometimes my work includes helping clients to overcome the effects of trauma from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence and addiction. Lasting change and true healing encompasses all aspects of a person. I engage my clients in therapy by attending to the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.
I received my doctorate at Trinity College of Graduate Studies, which emphasized the integration of psychology and Christian Spirituality. I am able to tailor my treatment to meet the needs of the client and am trained in a variety of interventions, including EMDR, a therapy used for treating trauma, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Redecision Therapy.
As a licensed Psychologist I provide caring, professional therapy to clients struggling with a variety of problems such as anxiety, depression, body image issues, eating disorders and conflicted relationships.
I work collaboratively with clients helping them to learn to manage their emotions, develop strategies to lead more satisfying lives, and experience loving relationships.
I am passionate about working with individuals to gain freedom from the tyranny of guilt and shame that blocks growth and healing. It is for this reason that I specialize in working with men and women who struggle with negative body image and have problems with food and weight.
