The triggers for anxiety may be external circumstances or internal thoughts and feelings. Therapy helps a person identify triggers and helps them to develop strategies to eliminate or work through them
Anxiety is the result of normal, natural human emotions becoming out of balance, causing a disruption to a person’s optimum functioning. A person’s mood affects every aspect of life including relationships, work-life, spirituality and health.
Humans need some level of alertness and awareness of danger to survive. However, when the brain is constantly on alert and over reacting to stimuli, a person will feel agitated, irritable and eventually worn out. Over time anxiety narrows a person’s choices in life, as they strive to avoid situations that are distressing to them.
